Predoctoral Internship

Predoctoral trainees can apply for the APA-approved clinical Internship in Clinical Psychology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Within the internship, there are 2 to 3 intern spots for the Behavioral Medicine Elective available each year.
Required Clinical Rotations
The Internship in Clinical Psychology includes three required rotations:
- Outpatient Psychiatry
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Program
- Inpatient Psychiatry Service (Blake 11)

Elective Clinical Rotations
Interns are given an opportunity to select 1-3 elective rotations (depending on goals and timing of elective rotations with their supervisors after match) to complement their training goals for internship year:
- Gastroenterology Service
- Mind-Body Medicine and Resilience
- Oncology specific elective rotations
- Survivorship Sleep Program
- Collaborative Care and Community Engagement Program (Serious Mental Illness and Cancer)
- Center for Psychiatric Oncology & Behavioral Sciences
- Cancer Center Lifestyle Medicine Clinic
- Sleep Medicine
- Smoking Cessation
- Substance Use
- Weight Center
- Women’s Health

Research Opportunities and Concentrations
Clinical research is an integral component of our internship program in the Behavioral Medicine Track. Interns will center the research experiences around one or more of the following research programs:
- HIV Care and Prevention
- Including Sexual and Gender Minority Health at The Fenway Institute Rotation, Fenway Health
- Health Promotion and Resiliency Intervention Research (HPRIR) Program
- Center for Psychiatric Oncology & Behavioral Sciences (CORE)
